In the National Cyber Security Strategy (2016-2021) released by the UK Government, the goal has been set that by 2021 the UK will be:
“… secure and resilient to cyber threats, prosperous and confident in the digital world.”
The public sector holds large quantities of sensitive data, and it is important that moving forward in the current climate all public sector bodies possess the knowledge and ability to defend themselves against cyber threats, which means investing greater security into the supply chain.
Being certified compliant with Cyber Essentials is just as important to the public sector as it is to the private sector as it demonstrates to your clients, stakeholders and partners that your organisation holds itself to a high standard of cyber security in accordance with the UK’s National Cyber Security Programme.
If your organisation hasn’t already joined the Cyber Essentials scheme, then now is the time to do so.
