II.2.4) Description of procurement: A number of MOPAC commissioned violence reduction interventions for London Prisons are being planned, with the procurement led by MOPAC, in partnership with the London Prisons Group and other CJS and health partners. The funding is expected to be in place until March 2026, and the service will run across three pilot prisons in London. This provision will target the complex needs of violent offenders in London prisons and also provide support to reduce violence following release.
By offering trauma-informed support for those who commit violence in prison, the violence reduction provision aims to improve outcomes in terms of successful engagement with CJS services and reduced risk of violent reoffending in prison and on release. The service will be fully integrated and evaluated under the pan-London Violence Reduction Strategy, which works to reduce violent offending in prison and in the community from the most persistent, violent offenders in London.
