VARIATION - A contractor have been appointed as main contractor to deliver the NESST build close to CHASE. They require a site compound to provide an area for equipment and materials storage, as well as providing main welfare facilities for construction staff. There is no available adjacent land to the NESST building that is suitable, however; an area of the CHASE plot has been identified as suitable, as it is close to the NESST building. We have the opportunity to instruct MGL to undertake the works now, using the arisings from Lovaine to form the hardstanding. MGL will be asked to excavate top spoil to the identified area, carry out asbestos hand picking exercise to the stockpile removing all visible asbestos contaminates from the topsoil. Supply and lay membrane to the excavated area, lay 500mm thick stone matt to the area using crushed material from the current site stockpile. Form a 1m high bund to the required area using the excavated topsoil.
