   II.2.4) Description of the procurement at the time of conclusion of the contract:
    The GDC is the UK-wide statutory regulator and has a statutory duty (under the Dentists Act 1984 (as amended) to provide a statutory examination for overseas dentists who wish to register as a dentist with the GDC. The Part 2-examination is the clinical examination, which is part of the safety-related test of competence that provides assurance that a dental professional is competent to deliver dental services. The services include: -Deliver the 4 components of the clinical examinations. Examinations venue within the UK, capacity for up to 800 candidates per year -Provision of services, material, equipment, and personnel - qualified and experienced examiners -Project Management and administration -Candidate Management -Working with the GDC to ensure the examinations a delivered effectively and in accordance with the examination blueprint and Preparing for Practice and the ORE Advisory Group to ensure the relevant standard is maintained and the continuous improvement of the examination.

VII.2) Information about modifications

   VII.2.1) Description of the modifications:
    The GDC intends to extend its existing contract for the Provision of Part 2 of the GDC Statutory Examination - Overseas Registration Examinations for a period of 20 months and 3 days, from 28 July 2023 to continue to fulfil the intentions of the original contract by supporting the delivery of examination services.

         Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire (Art. 43(1)(b) of Directive 2014/23/EU, Art. 72(1)(b) of Directive 2014/24/EU, Art. 89(1)(b) of Directive 2014/25/EU)
   
   Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:
    A change of contractor cannot be made for economic or technical reasons. There is significant preparatory work required to set up the services. This is one of only two types of this exam currently offered in the UK for Overseas dentists. It requires specific technical expertise to run the exam that has to date not presented itself in the market.
