      II.2.4) Description of procurement: Dorset HealthCare are pleased to announce a new tendering opportunity to bid to deliver a Cognitive Stimulation Therapy service to enable people in Dorset to live well with dementia.
Cognitive Stimulation Therapy is a component of the new model of care developed as a result of the Dorset Dementia Services Review coproduced with people living with dementia, carers and partner organisations.
Systematic reviews evaluating the effectiveness of cognitive stimulation in dementia have shown significant and consistent benefits. These include improving cognitive function for people with dementia and is also associated with benefits of quality of life and communication.
The aim of the service is to support those living well with dementia by offering brief, closed, structured groups that follow a programme of themed activities designed to actively stimulate and engage people with dementia, promote cognition (e.g. memory, language and executive function) and quality of life. The service will operate to meet Key Performance indicators and quality outcomes.
The provider will deliver a model of CST providing at least 71 courses per annum based on a 14 sessions per course. Courses will be equitably distributed across the 18 Primary care Networks across NHS Dorset CCG area; this includes Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole and Dorset County Local Authority areas. The service will be delivered within a provisional budget of approx. £ 200,000.00 per annum which will be confirmed in due course.

      II.2.4) Description of procurement: Dorset HealthCare are pleased to announce a new tendering opportunity to bid to deliver a Dementia Coordinator service to enable people in Dorset to live well with dementia.
The Dementia Coordinators are an integral part of the new model of care developed as a result of the Dorset Dementia Services Review coproduced with people living with dementia, carers and partner organisations.
The aim of the Dementia Co-ordinator service is to deliver consistent and high quality, compassionate care and support to meet the needs of people living with dementia and their carers from diagnosis to end of life and improve the quality of post diagnosis treatment and support.
This service aims to help people living with dementia to live well in their community and ensure they have the right support and care to meet their needs. This includes making sure people with a dementia diagnosis are aware of and signposted to the various community services provided by organisations and groups which help people feel less isolated and supported.
There will be dedicated Young Onset Co-ordinators to offer support to people diagnosed with young onset dementia. Dementia coordinators will ensure equitable access across the 18 Primary Care Networks in Dorset to support people living in their own homes and to offer support to care home staff in conjunction with the Dementia In-reach service.
Dementia Roadshows will also be part of the service and will offer a workshop type session open to anyone interested and all people newly diagnosed with dementia and their carers. The purpose of the Roadshows will be to provide education and information on dementia and bring together all key services in one place to provide access to attendees. The roadshows will also provide an opportunity for peers to network and meet others.
The service will operate to meet Key Performance indicators and quality outcomes. The service will have a provisional budget of between, £ 900,000.00 to £1,000,000.00 per annum approximately which will be confirmed in due course.
Providers will also be expected to demonstrate how they will deliver the services including implementation.
