Notice Summary
Title: Thermal Insualtion and Associated Works 2015
Notice type: Contract Notice
Authority: LondonEnergy
Nature of contract: Services
Procedure: Restricted
Short Description: The company receives and processes over 500,000 tonnes of waste per year. We generate electricity from waste – enough to supply 70,000 homes – and recycle a variety of materials. Our mission is to provide efficient and environmentally responsible solutions to divert waste from Landfill and benefit the community. The main site is the Eco Park at Edmonton which covers 44 acres, employs around 250 employees and contractors, and has a turnover of circa £50 million. LondonWaste Ltd has five boilers burning household refuse, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each boiler undergoes an annual statutory survey, at which time additional repairs are carried out. Typically this may include replacement of boiler tubes, blast cleaning of fireside, overhaul of roller grates, replacement of plate-work and castings, and overhaul of electrostatic precipitators. Additionally boilers are scheduled to undergo tube replacement approximately 6 months after survey and at this time it may be prudent to carry out other repairs. The purpose of this contract is to have available to LondonWaste Ltd, at short notice, the necessary resources to carry out insulation to pipework, valves, fittings, and flat or curved surfaces of associated plant. The successful tenderer will be required to make available 24 hours a day, a Manager, labour, and equipment to carry out the work initiated by our Mechanical Engineer. The Contractor’s Site Manager will be responsible for organising, co-ordinating and controlling the work on site and for liaising with the Mechanical Engineer and any other contractors working in the vicinity Potential suppliers will be required to demonstrate their capability to fulfil these requirements based upon their previous experience, as part of their response to this Pre-Qualification Questionnaire.
