      Gatwick is seeking expressions of interest from Suppliers interested in providing Grounds Maintenance Services at Gatwick Airport.
The contract is advertised in three Lots.
Applicants may bid for a single Lot, or any combination of multiple Lots including bidding for all three Lots. Gatwick shall award contracts to provide the services to a minimum of one and a maximum of three organisations to fulfil the services required.
A single point of contact from each organisation will be required to manage the contract in full.
The high level detail is as follows. Further detail will be provided in the Invitation to Tender (ITT):
Lot 1 – Landside Grounds Maintenance Services
The high level scope of services to be provided includes, but is not limited to, the following:
•Providing suitable labour and equipment
•Providing emergency call out assistance 24/7 in addition to planned works
•Grounds Maintenance to include:
grass cutting
arboricultural
shrub bed maintenance
hedge cutting
weed spraying on hard areas
conservation works
planting of the landside areas
•General horticultural operations and other duties as required by Gatwick
Lot 2 – Airside Grounds Maintenance
There are circa 160 hectares airside for grounds maintenance. The requirement is to carry out regular grounds maintenance. There will be a requirement to provide emergency call out assistance 24hrs, 7 days per week in addition to any planned works
•Regular grounds maintenance including
Horticultural
Agricultural
Arboricultural
Conservation work
Reinstatement work
Planting (interior and exterior)
Tree work
Argronomist services
Undertaking of obstruction surveys when required
Weed killing to airside hard surfaces including taxiway, manoeuvring areas, stands and piers
Miscellaneous areas of land at Gatwick Airport as required
Lot 3 – Landside AND Airside Grounds Maintenance Services
Lot 3 is for both landside and airside grounds maintenance services with the requirements as detailed in Lots 1 and 2.
Main Objectives
The aim of the contract is for the Supplier(s) to work in partnership with Gatwick Airport in providing, maintaining and achieving high quality open spaces at the airport.
Countryside management is an area where there is close co-operation between Gatwick Airport, neighbouring local authorities and other environmental groups.
Gatwick owns and manages large areas of open space and woodlands. The Grounds Maintenance Supplier shall be responsible for all areas.
