The medical advisor for adoption should be a paediatrician who is fully registered with the GMC and has had an enhanced CRB and has relevant experience in the clinical management of children including those with neuro­ developmental, emotional, and behavioural and attachment difficulties, child protection and adult health issues pertinent to parenting.
