      II.2.4) Description of the procurement: CHIC has developed with its members compliant solutions for the development of new homes branded as 'Buildsmart'. CHIC Members (or future Members) can access Frameworks and Contracts for the provision of Consultants and Contractors to undertake the development of new housing projects utilising traditional construction, timber frame construction or modular housing. This procurement is designed to strengthen the Buildsmart options for CHIC members (and future members) by providing a new contract for the provision of Modular Houses & Apartments (including low, medium and high rise) and Room Pods, including full site construction services - i.e. a Turnkey Contract approach. The contract will include for all schemes a service to manufacture, deliver and erect modular homes and, where required, a full main contractor service. This will result in the appointment of a businesses that can offer a full Turnkey Contract package which delivers complete housing schemes including the fabrication, delivery and erection of low, medium and high rise modular apartments. The appointed Contractor will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in delivering modular construction and will have within their business an established production facility for modular building elements.This Lot also includes the potential for the Contractor to manufacture and supply Kitchen and Bathroom Pods for incorporation into major development schemes.
Whilst the intention of this procurement is to meet the demand for turnkey contractors, the contract also includes the option for modules to be provided on a fabricate, deliver and erect basis, working as a sub-contractor to a Main Contractor.
