Title: | GB-London: Structural change in children’s services |
Notice type: | Competitive Contract Notice |
Authority: | Local Government Association |
Nature of contract: | Not applicable |
Procedure: | Not applicable |
Short Description: | Keeping children and young people safe and improving their life chances is one of the most important roles that a council plays, and councils are constantly looking to improve the ways in which they do this. This procurement aims to support them in this endeavour as they work through a period of significant change for councils, children’s services and the country more broadly: •Local government reorganisation, with many two tier areas undergoing discussions about establishing unitary authorities •Major national reviews of children’s social care and services for children with special education needs and disabilities •Changes arising from the Covid-19 pandemic alongside the levelling up agenda. The procurement will draw together lessons learnt from those councils who have gone through structural change – both what to do, and what not to do. The intention is to identify building blocks or ‘anchors’ to ensure high quality services for children, young people and their families even in the context of significant change. The project will also consider the extent to which changing the structure of children’s services supports or detracts from improvement, to support councils in fully considering their options. |
