Short Description: | The General Dental Council and Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) invites tenders for work on a cross regulatory research project -The Concept of Seriousness in fitness to practice cases. This work is being led by the GDC in a partnership with the NMC. The project will involve reviewing published case information from other healthcare regulators (HR) and conducting qualitative fieldwork with representatives from HRs who agree to participate. Access code for accessing ITT documents: V3394R4823 2.2This research has three primary objectives: •To develop an understanding of how the concept of seriousness in relation to misconduct is defined and applied by professional regulators, and to identify the considerations that influence that application; •To achieve a clearer understanding of the similarities and differences in approaches across regulation and reasons for these; •To describe the relationship between professional misconduct, enforcement actions and the statutory objectives of healthcare regulation. We are looking for the Contract to commence around November 2019 with a final report to be completed by the end of May 2021. We anticipate the value of the Contract will be circa £130,000 including any expenses but exclusive of VAT |
