Short Description: The LGA is seeking to commission a consultant (either an individual or an organisation) to deliver three events giving councillors basic tools around personal safety. The events will be open to councillors across England and Wales. The objectives of the events are to give councillors the basic tools to improve their personal safety and equip attendees with practical and sensible strategies for safe working. Content should include, but not limited to, risk assessment, tips and tricks to safe working, use of technology and cyber, harassment and physical threat (including knife attacks if possible). The events should be designed for a large audience and presented as a webinar to include a presentation from the contractors and time for questions from the audience. The contractors must have experience of personal safety in the context of local democracy and be able to demonstrate their understanding of how this differs from the context in which MPs operate, and be able to offer practical solutions to support councillors in their interactions with residents safely.
