Nature of contract: | Not applicable |
Procedure: | Not applicable |
Short Description: | The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) exists to help make Britain the world’s most creative and exciting place to live, visit and do business. The Arts sector is an important part of the UK’s economy, contributing £7.9bn to GVA, and 250,000 jobs in 2019. The Covid-19 pandemic meant that theatres and other performance venues had to close for much of 2020 and the first half of 2021, with many performances rescheduled for future dates. As the theatre sector reopens, it is important to understand how the sector is performing, relative to pre-Covid-19 levels. However, standard ticketing data does not always provide an accurate representation of the level of activity in the sector, as it is difficult to account for performances which were scheduled to take place that have since been cancelled or postponed. This project aims to address these current issues in ticketing data by identifying and analysing data only for performances which are known to have taken place. |
