Title: | GB-London: Effectiveness of SEND dispute resolution arrangements |
Notice type: | Competitive Contract Notice |
Authority: | Local Government Association |
Nature of contract: | Not applicable |
Procedure: | Not applicable |
Short Description: | The Local Government Association (LGA) is the national voice of local government. We work with councils to support, promote and improve local government. We are a politically-led, cross party organisation which works on behalf of councils to ensure local government has a strong, credible voice with national government. We aim to influence and set the political agenda on the issues that matter to councils so they are able to deliver local solutions to national problems. The LGA covers every part of England and Wales, supporting local government as the most efficient and accountable part of the public sector. We are commissioning this project to look at the effectiveness of existing SEND tribunal and dispute resolution arrangements. As set out in more detail below, the SEND system has become increasingly confrontational in recent years and we are keen to identify issues with the existing tribunal system, where it can be improved to benefit councils, their partners and children and families, as well as effective practise in the use of dispute resolution arrangements that seek to reduce the use of tribunals. |
