The project will provide the disposal plan and is to include the appointment of the required designers, cost consultant, sales and marketing team, contract strategy, planning activity, necessary remediation, re-provision works and access routes. The Trust needs to improve its estate and disposal would release capital for development and remove life expired buildings and backlog maintenance from their estates. It will also reduce land holdings and provide development land for housing in line with government policy. The configuration of the existing whole hospital site locates the long term clinical areas close to the main site access route on the A30. The land considered for disposal is to the east of the site, lying between the Tesco Extra store and the housing developments along Long Lane. The eastern portion of the whole hospital site has a range of sub-standard buildings which provide support facilities that can be relocated to other parts of the campus
