Short Description: INVITATION TO TENDER FOR: REFURBISHMENT AND UPGRADE OF FAIR ISLE SOUTH LIGHTHOUSE NLB REF: ENP1/LFAS/1699 It is the Boards intension to award this contract to a single Contractor, and it is envisaged that the successful Tenderer will co-ordinate the running of project works. A description with outline of the intended project works is as follows:- Online of Proposed Works The main elements of the work will involve the following: •Remove all existing engines, controls and AtoN •Remove the existing optic battery cells for their potential re-use at Fair Isle North •Remove existing fuel tanks and demolish bund. •Install new standby genset and controls to be configured to run weekly for an hour and on mains failure. To be installed in the north easterly room where the current aux engine is situated. •Install a 1,200-litre fuel tank in the same room as new genset. •Install standby batteries in cabinet in watch room. •Install LED lantern to meet 18 nautical mile range. •Install optic monitoring cubicle. •Reconfigure kitchen and fit with LPG supplied cooker and boiler (for hot water supply only) •Reconfigure current engine room to create 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. •Excavate to form new wastewater route from new bathrooms to tie in with existing. •Refurbish current (south easterly) controls room to give lounge/dining room. •Reconfigure current battery room to form 2 bedrooms off lounge (emergency accommodation) and workshop. •Lightning earthing infrastructure to be tested and upgraded as appropriate. •All electrical works to be designed to BS EN 7671 •Full external and internal redecoration of all buildings Site Visit A site visit is planned for Fair Isle South Lighthouse on Wednesday 28th April 2021 should the weather conditions be a problem for travelling to site an alternative date will be arranged with all interested parties. All Tenderers attending the site visit should contact Donald Innes, Procurement Officer, via Delta eProcurement at https://www.delta-esourcing.com/ by 14:00hrs on Friday 23rd April 2021 to confirm attendance, including names and mobile numbers of the representatives intending to visit site. Specific site visit times and meeting point will be confirmed prior to the site visit by Donald Innes, Procurement Officer. All potential suppliers will be required to complete and return an NLB COVID 19 Questionnaire prior to attending the site visit. The appropriate PPE equipment and COVID-19 guidelines, restriction and social distancing must be adhered to whilst on site.
