      Street-cleaning and sweeping services. Street-cleaning services. Street-sweeping services. Sewage-, refuse-, cleaning-, and environmental services. Cleaning and sanitation services in urban or rural areas, and related services. Tenders are invited to supply the provision of a Street Cleansing Service for North Kesteven District Council. The successful supplier will be responsible for providing this service and liaising closely with the contract manager. The contractor will provide the Street Cleansing and litter collection services throughout the District, which complies fully with the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act 1990: Code of Practice on Litter and Refuse. The Street Cleansing service required by the District Council broadly, but not exclusively, consists of :-
i) Mechanical sweeping of carriageway channels
ii) Mechanical sweeping of car parks and other open spaces
iii) Sweeping footpaths, passages, pedestianised areas and other paved areas by manual or mechanical methods
iv) Litter picking paths, verges, flowerbeds etc.
v) Removing litter from lay bys
vi) Cleaning litter and other discarded items from embankments, ditches etc.
The contract duration is for 3 year with the option to extend for 3 additional periods of 1 year, giving a maximum total of 6 years.
