| Description: | Imperial War Museums (IWM) invites suitable expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced suppliers for the provision of Electrical and DC Lighting Replacement and Heating Upgrade works which will take place on board HMS Belfast which is permanently moored on the Thames HMS Belfast is located at The Queen's Walk, London, SE1 2JH and consists of the Royal Naval ship HMS Belfast, originally commissioned prior to the Second World War. The ship is connected to the shore-side facilities, where a purpose built café, a shop and bar area are located. There is also a café and sleepover facilities located on board HMS Belfast. IWM places a high conservation value on HMS Belfast. New installations, penetrations and removal of existing fixtures and fittings are not generally permitted. Tenderers must ensure that all work is approved by IWM in advance of commencement and that the conservation value of HMS Belfast is dealt with as a key issue in risk assessments and project planning. IWM has undertaken a detailed design for the project however tenderers will need to review this design and accept full design responsibility under the proposed contract. |
