All providers selected to the relevant lot of the DPS will be invited to submit tenders for specific contract requirements. The award of contracts will be made wholly on an evaluation of the price tendered and the successful tender will be the lowest bid received. Lot 1: Public Transport (vehicles over 16 seats) 1. Dorchester – Bere Regis – Lychett Matravers – Poole 5 return journeys between Dorchester & Poole, Mondays to Saturdays 1 return journey between Winterbourne Kingston & Dorchester, Mondays to Saturdays Schooldays journey between Poole and Lychett Minster. Additional short workings to give an hourly service between Lychett Matravers and Poole, Saturdays only Estimated value of service – £188,000 per annum Estimated length of contract – September 2013 to late July 2016 (possible extension for up to one year) 2. (Route 212) Dorchester- Maiden Newton - Yeovil Timetable and Journey details to be confirmed Specific vehicle size to be confirmed but will need to exceed 16 seats. Estimated value of service – £43,600 per annum Estimated length of contract – January 2014 to late July 2016 Lot 2: Bus and Coach Transport (vehicles over 8 seats) No specific contract requirements are anticipated for Lot 2 during the period of this notice. Lot 3: Specially Adapted Vehicle Transport Various. Wheelchair accessible vehicle transport for special education needs children to attend school, looked after children to attend school or visits to family, and for vulnerable adults to attend day care centres. Anticipated 6 routes to be required with estimated value of each route - £75,000 Estimated length of contracts – Various from 1 to 4 years Lot 4: Taxi Transport Various. Routine taxi transport for home to school transport for mainstream school children, special education needs children to attend school, looked after children to attend school or visits to family, and for vulnerable adults to attend day care centres. Anticipated 30 routes to be required with an estimated value of each route - £35,000 Estimated length of contracts – Various from 1 to 4 years In addition to the requirements listed above the DPS may be used to tender urgent transport routes that arise during the period of this notice. This may include tenders for immediate transport requirements that have a significant social impact, or where an existing provider fails to deliver a route with immediate effect.
