II.1.4) Short description:
This contract is for the provision of independent laboratory testing and demonstration for demand side response (DSR) systems, in settings indicative of the real world . It is anticipated this contract will support proposed activity under the Flexibility Innovation Programme, focusing on interoperable DSR. BEIS requires provision of technical expertise, facilities, and services in the following areas:
-Design and development of a conformance testing scheme for PAS 1878
-Design and development of performance testing schemes for PAS 1878 and the GB smart metering system in accordance with the SAPC specification
-Laboratory testing of DSR systems
-Design and demonstration of DSR systems to test functionality in settings and scenarios indicative of the real world.
DSR systems to be tested include energy smart appliances, (e.g. heat pumps, EV charge points, batteries and white goods), DSR service providers and the supporting systems for operation in low-voltage premises.

Please register to attend the event by emailing flexibilityinnovation@beis.gov.uk by 11:00 on 13 December 2021.

Bidders can apply for either or both lots. If two different suppliers/consortia are successful in bidding for either lot they are expected to work closely together to ensure coordination between the laboratory testing and demonstrations in real world settings.
