Short Description: The Driving Standards Agency (DSA), an executive agency of the Department for Transport, is seeking to award a contract for investigation services. These services will be to support DSA's Fraud & Integrity Team in investigating illegal activity perpetrated against the agency to ensure the integrity of the driving test process. In recent times there has been an unprecedented increase in the number of cases involving deception and fraud on the part of driving test candidates. It is considered that in a significant number of cases, this wrongdoing is in pursuance of obtaining an identity or obtaining an entitlement to drive. In addition it is known that a number of driving instructors are operating illegally and outside of the legal requirements for driving instructors. DSA has an in-house Fraud & Integrity Team. Its role is to act as • a central point for receiving reports where it is considered that the integrity of the Agency has been breached; • management of and investigation of offences • collate and analyse intelligence. DSA is looking to acquire the services of a contractor who can provide investigative and intelligence functions to support and work alongside DSA’s Fraud & integrity team in investigating and bring to justice offenders who act illegally and circumvent the driver training and testing system. The current contract for this service expires on 31 January 2014.
