         IT services: consulting, software development, Internet and support. The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) is an Executive Agency of the Department for Transport. It is looking to replace its existing ICT service management arrangement, where DSA ICT requirements are currently provided by one supplier, with service towers overlaid with a Service Integration and Management (SIAM) layer. The component service towers will include: SIAM, Applications (Maintenance, Support and Development; system integration and hosting); End User Computing; Hosting, Networking and Telecommunications (PSN Connectivity and PSN Services).

The new services will operate within a multi sourced ICT service towers environment, in line with government best practice guidance (including ITIL, Prince2, MSP, etc.).

The SIAM service may include, for example: system integration of the full end to end service, service desk and service management.
The Applications Maintenance & Support service may include, for example: support and maintenance services for bespoke and commercial off the shelf DSA business applications.

The End-User Computing service may include, for example: provision and support of end-user devices, including installation of core business software and operating system.

The Hosting service may include, for example: secure hosting of DSA supported business applications, up to IL3; secure, scalable storage; backup and restore; virtualisation tools and/or system emulation; business continuity and disaster recovery.

The Networking service may include, for example: Driving Test Centre WAN, Administrative Office WAN, and telephony maintenance via PSN frameworks.

The current contract for ICT services expires on 31st December 2014. All service tower contracts must be available to be awarded by April 2014 to allow for transition and ensure continuity of service on 1 January 2015.

Estimated total costs excluding VAT over 5yrs is £80m.
