      The Northern Lighthouse Board is seeking the services of an experienced and competent service providers for the survey, design, manufacture, supply, delivery and installation of a mechanical bearing system and ancillary components at Sumburgh Head Lighthouse

As part of this refurbishment it is proposed that the Mercury is removed from site and the lens rotation system is upgraded to a Replacement mechanical bearing with associated controls.

A key objective of the project is the retention of the First Order Fresnel lens which is of historical importance. As such the successful Tenderer of this Mechincal Bearing System tendering exercise will be named and appointed as a nominated sub-contractor to the successful principle contractor of Sumburgh Head Lighthouse Major Refurbishment project which is scheduled to commence in March 2022.
