Establishment of a 1-year pilot for development of an advanced nuclear skills and innovation campus. A delivery partner will be procured to:
•Improve coordination and focus advanced nuclear energy innovation and high-level skills development;
•Establish physical collaboration with office and laboratory space on an existing nuclear licensed site;
•Conduct market engagement and commissioning of seed or match investment in pilot technology development and demonstration projects to be performed on the site.
•Enable virtual collaboration with links to facilities, academia and wider skills across the sector
•Enable knowledge transfer and training
•Establish funded training / sponsorship of Masters/ PhD students.
The campus delivery partner will:
•be a vehicle for co-investment to establish campus projects and underpinning advanced nuclear training;
•conduct ongoing engagement with industry and interfacing programmes;
•monitor progress of campus projects and training regimes.

The procurement is for a one-year contract with a single delivery partner or consortium. It will be conducted via an open competitive procedure and will be advertised on Find A Tender (FTS) and Contracts Finder.
The ITT and specification will be developed with market engagement, with a supplier day to be held on Tuesday 2nd March.

The campus will be a high level skills and innovation “institute” housed within a Public Sector Research Establishment (PSRE) on a nuclear licensed site (of which there are several that could be viable) for developing and demonstrating advanced nuclear technologies that can contribute to Net Zero and society. We are seeking market input to develop the specifications for this pilot project.
