      Artistic and literary creation and interpretation services. Museum-exhibition services. A favoured residence of Queen Victoria, Osborne is a large Italianate house of the 1840s set in a landscaped park on the Isle of Wight.

The Swiss Cottage Quarter was the domain of the royal children when the family was at Osborne. Located some distance from the main house it encompasses a swiss cottage, museum, tool shed, earthworks miniature fort, gazelle house and children’s gardens. Like no other part of the estate it epitomises the private aspect of the life of the royal family at Osborne and embodies Prince Albert’s educational philosophy for his children. Rhododendron Walk links the quarter with the beach, and was used regularly by the royal family.

This contract is for the schematic, detailed design and delivery of new interpretation for the Swiss Cottage Quarter and Rhododendron Walk plus a site wide family orientation leaflet. The key target audience for the new interpretation is families with children ranging from three to twelve years old.

The contract is subject to Heritage Lottetry Fund (HLF) funding being obtained.
