The existing buildings and surrounding area will be demolished to make room for the cinema and additional building and facilities. The area surrounding the site will remain open to the public throughout the build.

A new procurement process for these works will be initiated in the near future. The previous notice erroneously stated the contracting authority's name as being "Basildon District Council," this has been corrected in this current notice to state "Basildon Borough Council."
