Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Fire Authority in partnership the current CPSN members is seeking to award directly for the continuation of WAN and Wi-Fi services across the current bespoke core.
The partnership envisions the procurement of the new network (Eastnet) will be seen as the public services network of choice within the region and wishes to extend the opportunity to the numerous NHS bodies within the region as they transition from N3 to HSCN, to allow closer working and greater sharing opportunities.
To facilitate this, the current network and services needs to be maintained beyond June 2018, this will allow for a full procurement exercise to be undertaken and, if required, a reasonable period for transition to a new provider.

Cambridgeshire County Council is preparing to conduct the reprocurement of a replacement Wide Area Network including Managed Internet Access and Wireless LAN services as part of a wider regional partnership.
The contract notice 2017/S 112-225685 for the replacement EastNet public sector network was advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union on 14th June 2017. The new contract is intended to be awarded prior to the extension of services as described in this VEAT notice which is to cover the period July 2018 to December 2019.
Due to unforeseen delay in the HSCN network development there is a requirement to extend the current CPSN service provision for a period of 18 months to allow continued service provision, an effective transition period and to fully include NHS organisations within the region as they move from N3 to HSCN.
