The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. We make sure that health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, and high-quality care and we encourage services to improve. The CQC is seeking expressions of interest from suppliers able to provide analytical support for inspections under our new methodology and to support the development of a comprehensive surveillance model for GP services. CQC are looking to procure the analytical support for inspections services (Lot 1) in 2015. We wish to engage with the market around the development of a comprehensive surveillance model for GP services (Lot 2). Depending upon the results of our market engagement CQC may decide to tender one or both lots, or even a combination of lots.          CQC intend to hold two supplier events. CQC will be holding an Open Day (23rd February 2015 in Central London) providing suppliers with an overview of high level requirements, challenges and objectives. A supplier Showcasing Event (27th February in Central London) will then be held giving suppliers the opportunity to meet with the CQC panel to discuss the high level requirements, delivery options and innovation.To join one or both of these events please email: procurement@cqc.org.uk outlining which events you wish to join, your organisation's name and also the names of attendees (maximum of 3).          CQC is also seeking to understand from the market what support is available to build on our learning from Intelligent Monitoring in order to fully exploit the data we have to support all our regulatory activity. CQC's Knowledge and Information Strategy includes a commitment to develop such a model, which we have named Comprehensive Surveillance. The model will be developed and tested for GP services in 2015/16 and possess characteristics which can be applied to other primary care services e.g. dentistry.
