Oldham MBC : Limehurst Village Development Competition

Oldham MBC has published this notice through Delta eSourcing

Notice Summary
Title: Limehurst Village Development Competition
Notice type: Contract Award Notice
Authority: Oldham MBC
Nature of contract: Works
Procedure: Restricted
Short Description: The Council is seeking a developer for six sites in the Limehurst area of Oldham. Oldham is ambitious, it wants the best for its residents and businesses and it wants to play its part in growing the wider economy of Greater Manchester. This current opportunity has been developed in partnership with the Regenda Group, the main Registered Provider for Limehurst Village. OMBC and Regenda are working closely together on a number of initiatives and themes to improve the lives of residents across Oldham. Our objective in bringing this development opportunity to the market is to contribute to the creation of a healthy and successful community by providing housing choice for people who wish to remain in the area or who choose to live there. We also want to use the construction period to maximise training and employment opportunities in connection with the development. Currently the majority of housing is social rented, providing little opportunity for people to move into the area or through the housing ladder whilst remaining close to family connections or simply to reflect the change in economic circumstances. The sites offered will provide sufficient scale for the development of a range of homes for sale and/or private rent, thereby introducing a choice of tenure within the neighbourhood and contributing to its long term sustainability. The partners welcome private rental as part of a mix of tenure, however a paramount consideration is management and any proposal for the delivery of private rented properties will need to be accompanied by a detailed proposal for ongoing management. Further details about this opportunity are set out in a Development Brief which is obtainable from the Council. Details of how to obtain the Development Brief and how to express an interest in participating in this opportunity and the deadline for doing so are set out in section VI.3 (Additional Information) of this notice.
