South Gloucestershire Council is tendering for an external agency to deliver an independent housing advice service for the residents of South Gloucestershire to run for 3 years from 1 April 2015 Important Note: South Gloucestershire Council is reviewing its Housing Advice Services as part of its Council Savings Plan, and one of the options alongside continuing with an externalised service is to bring the service in-house. The Council does not commit itself to accept the lowest or any tender, and may at its absolute discretion withdraw this invitation to tender at any time.

      This is a contract for an independent housing advice service for the residents of South Gloucestershire on behalf of the Council under the Housing Act 1996, Part VII (as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002). The service will consist of both drop in and phone advice sessions covering tenancy relations work, debt advice and mortgage repossession and follow up service to clients, where homelessness was previously prevented, or delayed. The contract term is for three years with an option to extend for a further eighteen months. It is envisaged that T.U.P.E will apply to this tender. There are currently two members of staff fully dedicated to this contract. One is full time, working a standard 37.5 hour week and the other is part time, working 21 hours each week.
