A portable fuel analyser is required for up to 50 Road Fuel Testing vehicles, the analyser must be able to successfully identify the presence of fuel markers in the field and will operate in compliance with all applicable Health & Safety legislation (Health & Safety at Work Act 1974

Consideration is being given as to how the service will be provided, it is envisaged that due to the nature of the marker *Accutrace™S10, some form of Gas-chromatography system will be required as a roadside Analyser and the initial specification has been predicated on that basis, however other techniques/systems are not excluded from consideration provided that they can demonstrate that they can meet the requirements and the supplier day is partly to establish the possible alternative solutions available. * Accutrace™S10 = Active Fuel Marker 20% of content by weight:• 20% by weight ((3-(sec-butyl)-4-(decyloxy)phenyl)methanetriyl) tribenzeneSolvent used to stabilise the active material as a liquid form:• 10% by weight of 2-(methylpropyl)phenol – CAS Number 89-72-5• 70% by weight Solvent Aromatic 200 with Naphthalene impurities CAS Numbers 64742-94-5 (Solvent Naphtha) and 91-20-3 (Naphthalene)In order to inform the decision HMRC intend to hold a supplier event day on 12 September 2014. There will be two sessions, 10:00 to 12:30 OR 14:00 to 16:00 (please state a preference) in order to allow potential suppliers to learn more about the requirement and also to assist the Client in scoping the requirement, using feedback from suppliers in the market place. Due to the potential interest and the limitations imposed by the size of the venue, numbers will be restricted to two attendees from each prospective supplier on a first come-first served basis.
