4. Description: Microscopes. Fluorescent microscopes. Fluorescent and polarising microscopes. In order to accelerate the progress of FLImP towards spinout UKRI equires an easy to use, stable, portable
microscope with the following characteristics.
1) Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence (TIRF) imaging.
2) Single molecule detection capability.
3) Very high stability and low drift, allowing single molecule localisation with a precision of < 10 nm.
4) This device is to be used in a CLASP project – partner KCL and AstraZeneca. This project is a key driver
towards de-risking this technology for spinout. KCL are the clinical partner and the project requires a
potable and stable system for clinical analysis in hospitals.
5) Class 1 laser category to allow operation in non-interlocked labs
