This forms part of Gatwicks ACDM55 initiative (Airport Collabortative Decision Making).

To increase situational awareness of live operations for all the key players in the airport community, we are planning to implement a suite of systems that gather key information and share them across the airport. In particular, we plan to deliver:
•   a “CDM Portal” which provides a visualisation of the current situation on the airfield & stands through the use of a live map of the airport with the location of aircraft and key ground service equipment, arrivals & departures listings, alerts & warnings, KPI dashboard & reporting functionality
•   a link up to network operations (Eurocontrol) to provide and receive accurate flight progress updates in line with Eurocontrol’s A-CDM project
•   a “Turn Tool” which shows the live status of the progression of an aircraft turnaround
•   data sensing technology to update the turn milestone events near real time
In addition, the CDM Portal will be the system, which interfaces with the repository of standard operating procedures, key performance metrics, and general airport communications.
The awarded solution will take inputs from various sources and continuously update the system tools that feed the CDM Portal. The main sources of data will include IDAHO (Gatwick’s AODB), ASMGCS radar and GPS data. Internal data across Gatwick systems will be integrated via a Biztalk ESB interface. External data from/to 3rd party systems will be integrated via a Microsoft Azure ESB, which will enable secure data integration with all Gatwick airport partners.
The awarded party will be required to liaise with members of the ACDM team, Airside Operations team, Gatwick IT, airport partners and NATS to develop an effective system that satisfies GAL business requirements.
