   II.2.4) Description of the procurement:       
      The Forestry Commission (FC) has a future opportunity for the provision of Legal Services. The requirement will be for the whole of FC.
The FC is the caretaker for over 1,500 forests caring for more areas of land than any other organisation in England.
Forestry England operates over 200 sites in England, with third party businesses operating on over 100 of those sites. It is responsible for management of the nation’s forests, for timber, people, and wildlife, while overseeing thousands of tonnes of timber production annually and hosting live music concerts, holiday cabin sites and sports events.
Forest Research is Britain’s principal organisation for forestry related research, internationally renowned for the provision of evidence and scientific services.
Forest Services works to protect and improve England’s woodlands through the provision of expert advice, partnership working, regulation and incentives. Note that Forest Services are externally known as Forestry Commission.    
   II.2.14) Additional information          
      The requirement will mostly regard property and estate management of the public forest estate, property leasing, HR matters, and public liability claims (traffic and third party). Advice on Commercial (including Procurement), Corporate and Public Law may also be required. It is anticipated that this requirement will be published in June 2020
