II.2.4) Description of the procurement: DefCARS is a secure data capture, analysis and reporting application delivered via a web based interface to a closed group of users. DefCARS allows defence contractors to submit their statutory reports in an electronic format to the MOD and SSRO, and incorporates functionality to allow the SSRO and the MOD to review reports and carry out analysis. Submitted defence contract data is OFFICIAL – SENSITIVE – COMMERCIAL. The SSRO is looking for a supplier to continue to provide secure hosting of the database and web application, provide system support and routine development to improve the system further. Further ad hoc system development will be required throughout the contract.
