4. Description: Architectural and building-surveying services. The Museum of London has appointed a Party Wall and Rights of Lights Consultant for its New Museum West Smithfield Project. The proposed new museum site at West Smithfield is located in the City of London and covers approximately 25,000 sq m. The site includes the now disused General Market, the Fish Market, the triangular Red House, the Iron Mountain site and the basement of the listed 1960s Poultry Market. This unique project – re-imagining a nationally significant landmark – requires an outstanding and experienced Party Wall and Rights of Light Consultant who will need to liaise with the other consultants as part of a multi-disciplinary team that will require extensive research and competencies to ensure a successful outcome.

The consultancy will provide two tiers of work providing extensive risk assessments and reports in relation to the New Museum West Smithfield Project.
as well as providing advice while supporting the Museum of London in identifying key areas of risk. They will input and support the planning application including the finalisation of the proposed scheme. Their scope will involve site visits and obtaining historic maps to examine the relevant surrounding properties and preparation of the Rights of Light analysis. other duties will involve the provision of a risk register highlighting the risk profile and suggested strategies for mitigation.
