•Planning and delivery of the external audit programme including liaison with Sovereign staff as required.
•Undertaking of external statutory audits across Sovereign Housing Association (and associated subsidiaries) in compliance with legal and accounting guidance.
•Provision and presentation of external audit reports including scoping, planning and findings. Discussion and agreement of the reports with the relevant committees where required.
•Ensuring senior and qualified staff are provided to lead and deliver the audit.
•Attendance at all Sovereign sites where required as part of the audit process;
•Providing proactive advice and guidance on external audit processes, risk management, and sector related matters;
•Supporting the Group in adopting best practice approaches and maximising value for money.
•Ensuring the group is kept abreast of changes to accounting standards, practices and interpretation and assisting the group to understand, evaluate and implement required changes.
